Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint literally grew up in front of our eyes while filming the Harry Potter movies. Those three along with several other actors have become a big part of pop culture thanks to their stint in one of the most successful franchises of all time. According to a tweet from one of its stars, the final day of shooting on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows took place Saturday, June 12th and it was an emotional time for everyone involved. A lot of tears were shed…
Co-star Warwick Davis posted on his Twitter account:
The end of an Era – today is officially the last day of principal photography on ‘Harry Potter’ – ever. I feel honoured to be here as the director shouts cut for the very last time. Farewell Harry & Hogwarts, it’s been magic! …and goodbye Griphook!
Daniel Radcliffe shared the same sentiments when he was asked about the finale while on the red carpet at the 64th Annual Tony Awards. He stated,“Everyone was really devastated. It was really, really sad. We were crying quite a lot.” And when asked about how it felt to leave his famous character behind he stated, “It’s a weird, weird feeling.”
We can only imagine the emotion that went down on the set that day. Over 10 years of filming together has come to an end. For those of you who grew up alongside the Potter kids how do you feel now that it’s officially over?
