Disney has premiered the first trailer for their upcoming animated feature, Tangled. Back in March they released a snippet of footage from the film that gave us nothing in terms of its story or characters so we’re excited about this debut. The film was previously entitled Rapunzel but a couple of months ago they changed it for unknown reasons. The trailer for Tangled, Rapunzel, or whatever you want to call it is now ready for your viewing pleasure…

Tangled centers on the cursed Rapunzel (Mandy Moore), famous for her 70 feet of golden hair, after she’s been stolen from her parents’ castle as an infant and imprisoned. Now a teenager, she escapes and goes on the run with a bandit named Flynn Ryder who’s voiced by “Chuck’s” Zachary Levi, and they work together to free her from captivity.

The animation in the film is pretty impressive. Disney’s last release in the fairytale sub-genre was The Princess and the Frog, which was hand drawn but still sharp. From the looks of it, Tangled has a good comedic tone with Ryder’s “Blue Steel” impression and Rapunzel’s acrobatic hair. Even though it’s creepy seeing someone’s hair move in that way, the film as a whole looks great!

Tangled will be released in digital 3D on November 24, 2010.
