There’s no such thing as too little, too late because Hollywood is about to capitalize on a couple of film franchises that started over 15 years ago. Were you one of the many kids obsessed with Back to the Future, Doc Brown, and the DeLorean? What about the prehistoric world that Steven Spielberg created in Jurassic Park? If you said yes to all of thee above, get ready for a video game adaptation of both.

According to the AP, Telltale Games is taking on the huge task of developing episodic game titles based on both movies. This might sound crazy because they already had a Back to the Future and Jurassic Park video game when the films were initially released but Telltale wants to take it a step further. They plan on reintroducing them on the latest platforms such as Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC and Mac.

The currently untitled games are set to be released sometime this winter, which might conveniently be around Christmas. Do I smell a holiday season rush? If you’re a bit confused as to whether or not these newbies will automatically be linked to the originals, here’s what Dan Connors the CEO of Telltale had to say,

“I wouldn’t call these games sequels per se but a new interpretation of their worlds for a new medium. For one generation, it’s an introduction to these series. For another generation, it’s a thing they can look back on and something they can share warmly with their family and friends.”

Is it bad that I’m slightly interested in seeing what the games will look like? The type of technology available today could work wonders for those dinosaurs and the time traveling aspect of Back to the Future. This is definitely intriguing.

Will you buy the new Back to the Future and Jurassic Park video games?
