Late last year there was some subtle hype about a little film called Takers, an action flick that stars 90 percent of Hollywood’s worst actors and features one of the most cliched plots in cinematic history. It even made our Top Ten Worst Movies of Summer 2010 list. But even with all that hate, it keeps coming back for more. Over at IMP Awards they’ve unveiled a new poster for the film and just like everything else about it, there’s no originality…
Takers is like Ocean’s Eleven but without the talented actors. It’s a group of thieving misfits led by one smooth operator, who in this case is “The Wire’s” Idris Elba and his sidekick, Paul Walker. Now, before Walker came into the mix we were slightly interested but then Hayden Christensen, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Michael Ealy, Matt Dillion, Jay Hernandez, and Chris Brown had to come join the party (shudder).
Why does this poster look like a rip off of one of the recent James Bond movies? Is there a reason for it? The airbrushing looks bad but not nearly as horrible as the job done on the first poster. We’re not impressed Screen Gems, we are NOT impressed.
Takers hits theaters on August 20, 2010.
What do you think of the new poster for Takers?
