Another actor has joined Jon Favreau’s growing cast of the upcoming sci-fi-western, Cowboys & Aliens. According to Variety, Adam Beach has officially signed on and will appear alongside Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, Noah Ringer, Sam Rockwell, and Paul Dano (did I miss anybody) in the comic adaptation.
Cowboys & Aliens will center on outer-space creatures who land in Arizona circa the mid-19th century intent on enslaving the local population — until a group of cowboys and Apache Indians fight back. Zeke Jackson (Craig) is a very talented gunman and will be the revolt leader.
The trade reports that Beach will star as “Nat Colorado, a half-Apache who works for Ford’s character (Woodrow Dollarhyde).” Beach is one of my favorite actors so it’s great to see him get another gig. Does anyone else remember when he appeared as a regular on NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU“? He was awesome on that show!
Cowboys & Aliens is slated to hit theaters on July 29, 2011, but we’re not sure when the actual production will begin. We do know that Favreau is already doing a few costume and makeup tests according to the recent photo of Craig he released via his Twitter account.
What do you think of Beach as the latest addition to Cowboys & Aliens?
