Unfortunately, The Crow reboot is still going strong despite the hesitation of fans everywhere. According to a report from MTV’s Splash Page the production is moving along quickly and the producers already have an actor in mind for the role that was previously occupied by the late Brandon Lee.
Edward Pressman, who produced the previous Crow installments claims that they’ve sent out an offer to a major star and are aiming to begin filming later this year. The movie’s script has already been completed and “The setting is the southwest — the Mexico/Arizona area — and an urban [setting], Detroit or Pittsburgh or something like that,” he described. Its initial platform is in the southwest and then it moves to the big city in the north, middle or eastern America, and then back.”
This wide landscape is supposed to be one of the things that will set this Crow apart from the previous installments. Director Stephen Norrington’s vision will be a lot different than what we’re used to seeing and I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.
The Crow was special not just because of its comic fandom but because of Brandon Lee and its original story. The big mystery here is, who have they sent out an offer to? Who could possible take on this role and actually do it justice?
What do you think of the new setting for The Crow? Who could play the title role?
