Megan Fox has been a hot topic ever since it was revealed that she won’t be returning for Michael Bay’s third installment of Transformers. When it was initially announced, sources claimed that the actress was dropped by both the studio (Paramount) and the director but according to Fox that’s not true. She recently told People Magazine that it was her choice to leave the film.
All the speculation regarding her departure must have gotten under her skin because her publicist released an official statement saying, “It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best.” Really? Didn’t she have an iron clad contract to do three films like Shia Labeouf? Maybe they made a few revisions that we didn’t know about?
Either way, Transformers is moving on without her and several other actresses are already being courted to take her place, most notably Gemma Arterton. We’re not sure how this will effect her career because her first headlining film, Jennifer’s Body bombed at the box office and her upcoming summer flick Jonah Hex hasn’t been getting much publicity. She needs to find another commercial hit or star in a small, indie flick that proves she can act.
