Sam Worthington has made it his business to take on every blockbuster role imaginable. If you’ve got a film that’s in the action, fantasy, or sci-fi genre his Australian ass will be all over it! His latest conquest comes courtesy of the literary hero Allan Quatermain who he’ll play in a live action adaptation for DreamWorks.
The film will simply be entitled, Quatermain and will put a new spin on the hero who was the protagonist in the H. Rider Haggard novel King’s Solomon’s Mines and its sequel Allan Quatermain. This newer version is “set in a time in which humans have left Earth and sees Quatermain return to the planet from a sojourn in space, embarking on another “King Solomon’s Mines”-style adventure but on a planetwide scale.”
Not only will Worthington star as the title character but the film will mark his first gig as a producer. He’ll be making moves in front of the camera and behind the scenes. No director has been announced for Quatermain as of yet, but when we find out you’ll be the first to know. We’re happy that Worthington is getting steady work but DAMN SAM leave some for the rest of the starving actors out there!
What do you think of Worthington taking on the role of Allan Quatermain?
