Micmacs or Micmacs à tire-larigot is the latest film from the director of Amélie and City of Lost Children, Jean-Pierre Jeunet. The film excels in all the areas he’s best known for. From his token close ups on his characters making silent picture-esq faces, to the wildly textured sets and attention to small details, this film has everything we have come to love and expect from Juenet including a very original take on a typical story about a man seeking revenge for him and his family.
The film stars the french cast of Dany Boon, Andre Dussollier, Omar Sy and Dominique Pinon who all give extremely colorful performances (to say the very least). The set and palate for the film are nothing short of stunning.
Sony Pictures Classics has just unveiled an exclusive featurette of the making of Micmas. Take a little peak into what it took to create the magical set…
Micmacs opens in New York on May 28 and hopefully will expand from there!
