For those of you who are fans the Fox series “Human Target” we’ve got good news to report. According to THR, the network has picked up the show for a second season. Not only that but they’re also bringing back the Tim Roth drama “Lie To Me,” and four new pilots. With “24” on its way out it seems like they’re looking for a new replacement…
Both “Lie to Me” and “Human Target” are expected to have 13 episode seasons next year with the latter gaining a new showrunner in “Chuck’s” Matt Miller. As for the pilots, they have acquired two dramas entitled “RideAlong” and “Midland” (now likely called “Lone Star“) and two single-camera comedies “Traffic Light” and “Keep Hope Alive.”
“RideAlong” is set in Chicago and follows a rogue cowboy cop and the city’s first female police chief as they try to clean up the streets. “Midland” is a dramatic soap about a con man in the oil industry. “Keep Hope Alive” is about a single parent and “Traffic Light” is a male relationship comedy.
None of the premises for any of these pilots interest us. They sound pretty standard even though “RideAlong” attempts to throw in something new with the female police chief. The one thing that could make these show’s pop are their casts. If they can get some decent actors involved they might be on to something. Just look at “Human Target,” it’s not particularly amazing but Chi McBride and Jackie Earle Haley are awesome in it.
What do you think of Fox’s decision to renew Human Target and Lie to Me? Are you interested in any of the new shows?
