***Update: Though the duo don’t appear in the final cut of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Tom Kenny said he did the voice for the film***

This might be the most logical decision Michael Bay has ever made in his career. He’s gotten rid of those incoherent pieces of scrap metal known as the twins aka Skids and Mudflap. They were just two of many extra characters that the general population hated in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen not just because of their lack of purpose but because of their racist undertones. It’s good to know that our complaints didn’t fall on deaf ears…

Bay posted on his official forum that “The Twins are not back in T3.” We don’t know what’s funnier, the fact that he got rid of them or the fact that he referred to Transformers 3 as T3. Doesn’t that make you think of Terminator: Rise of the Machines? Not a good sign people. The characters were voiced by Tom Kenny of “Sponge Bob Square Pants” fame and Reno Wilson from Crank: High Voltage. We’re guessing their talents won’t be missed this third time around.

On a side note, we’ve learned that ANOTHER actor has been cast in the film and it’s comedienne Kym Whitley. The last time we saw her on the big screen it was in Michael Jai White’s blaxploitation comedy, Black Dynamite. We wonder what her role will be here. It’s good news that Bay is cutting the riff raff with Skids and Mudlfap but he’s still bringing in new people. Transformers 3 continues to worry us.

What do you think of Bay’s decision to get rid of the twins? Will they be missed?
