After watching last night’s episode of “Lost ” (read our TV Review) we’re convinced that Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse have a few aces up their sleeves for the finale. With only 3 episodes to go the network brass over at ABC have decided to give the producers an extra 30 minutes to wrap things up. That’s right! The final episode of “Lost” will be 2 and a half hours long.

According to THR, “Lost” will dominate ABC’s Sunday night line up when it airs on May 23rd. The evening will start with a 2 hour retrospective special/clip show (7pm-9pm) “Lost: The Final Journey”, followed by the 2 hour series finale, then “Jimmy Kimmel Live!: Aloha to Lost,” which will air at 12:05 am after your local news. That’s five and a half hours of Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Hurley, and whoever else makes it to the last show.

Apparently, the producers shot so much footage for the episode that they needed the extra 30 minutes to really make the story work. We’re both excited and scared about this decision because Lindelof recently stated that even though the finale will be definitive, it will prompt more questions. What if you’re like us and you don’t want more questions? We’ve been held captive for 6 years tuning in to each episode. We want answers and with their new runtime they better give them!

Are you excited about Lost’s new time? What do you think will happen in the extra 30 minutes?
