After Wall Street 2 and Transformers 3 Shia Lebeouf will once again put himself in danger by starring in the upcoming Mandate production, The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman. The young actor has landed the lead role in the romantic thriller that will mark the feature film debut of commercial director, Dante Ariola.

The film centers on a young man who travels to Budapest after his mother dies of cancer and he becomes entwined with a mysterious Hungarian girl with romantic and violent repercussions. Charlie endures one bruising beat down after another to woo her and keep her away from Nigel, an extremely possessive mob boss.

The film’s screenplay was written by Matt Drake and was featured on the 2007 Black List as one of the best un-produced screenplays of the year. We’re not sure who will play the illusive Gabi or the insane Nigel but we’re more than ready to watch two hours of Labeouf getting his ass kicked!

Production on Charlie Countryman is being fast tracked to begin this fall following the actor’s summer shoot of Transformers 3.
