Over the past couple of years Jennifer Aniston hasn’t exactly strayed from the rom-com formula when it comes to her acting career. If we see her in one more movie about a girl meeting a guy and falling in love under unconventional circumstances we might scream. Someone must have told her it’s time for a change because she’s ready to tackle something new, behind the camera.
According to Reuters, Aniston is looking to make the professional transition to director as the next step in her career. She already co-directed a film alongside Andrea Buchanan back in 2006 called Room 10, which went on to win a prize at the CineVegas Festival. She recently stated, “It’s getting to a time where creatively I want to turn in a different direction.”
It sounds like she’s getting the itch to take on her first directing project but before that happens she has to wrap things up on the acting front. Aniston has several films scheduled for release in 2010 and 2011 and that’s where her focus is at the moment.
If she does decide to give this directing thing a serious shot we hope she’s a bit more selective with her scripts. We don’t want this to be a repeat of her acting choices. Who wants another Bounty Hunter on their hands (shutter)?
Do you think Aniston could have a serious career in directing? Would you go see one of her films?
