On the heels of Harrison Ford’s casting, The Last Airbender star Noah Ringer has also signed on for Jon Favreau’s sci-fi action flick, Cowboys & Aliens. The movie is being headlined by Daniel Craig and Tron Legacy’s Olivia Wilde and is turning into one of the most anticipated films of 2011.

We all know that Ringer can kick-ass and take names later but he’s not a trained actor. M. Night Shyamalan prides himself on the fact that he plucked the young Texas native from obscurity for The Last Airbender so how will he do going up against Ford and Craig? He must have shown some type of promise if Favreau and company are willing to take a chance and cast him in their film without even seeing his sole movie credit on the big screen.

No real information has been given regarding his character, we’re talking no name and no description to speak of. All we know is that Cowboys & Aliens will center on outer-space creatures who land in Arizona circa the mid-19th century intent on enslaving the local population — until a group of cowboys and Apache Indians fight back. Craig will play Zeke Jackson, the revolt leader and a very talented gunman. How will Ringer fit into all of this? Only time will tell.

Cowboys & Aliens debuts in theaters on July 29, 2011.

Do you think Ringer has what it takes to continue acting?
