Hold on to your butts! Michael Bay is headed towards the small screen and he’s going to blow some sh*t up! The film producer and director who’s best known for his current Transformers franchise isn’t satisfied with just working in film. He wants more. He wants TV. According to a report from Deadline, Bay is producing a no holds barred action-centered reality series, which he’s currently shopping to various networks.
Bay has teamed up with top reality producers Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz of Magical Elves for the new action series, “One Way Out“. It’s said to be a combination of “Survivor,” “The Mole,” and “The Amazing Race” all wrapped into one and is described as “a game with no rules.” With the combination of those three and the rules-free premise this doesn’t sound like something you can come out of alive.
With a title like “One Way Out” will Freddy Krueger or Jason Voorhees pop up and attack the cast members at any given time? Will they need to escape or can they leave willingly?
The game will take various people from different backgrounds around the world to new locations each week building towards “a climactic showdown where all secrets are exposed and a shocking development revealed.” Here’s what Bay had to say about his venture into the world of reality television.
“For my first television project I wanted to do something that had never been done before, and I believe that One Way Out, Bay said. “Combining unique twists, death-defying challenges, and stunning visuals, we are reinventing the genre, showing just how far people will go when they are stripped of their bare necessities and forced to do whatever it takes to survive.”
I think Michael Bay is asking for a bit much here. Does he realize this isn’t a movie and he can’t call cut or action? People can die in these types of situations. The contestants they get for this show will probably be reality TV whores or people who have no regard for their lives.
Do you think Michael Bay’s show is too extreme?
