“Family Guy’s” Seth MacFarlane will make his directorial debut with an “R” rated comedy entitled Ted. According to Deadline, the film is about a man and his teddy bear and will feature a mix of live and computer generated action.
Not only will he direct but he wrote the screenplay and will also provide the voice for the computer-generated title character. The film is being developed by Media Rights Capital Production and is scheduled to start shooting sometime later this year. Since MacFarlane plays so many roles behind and in front of the camera he’ll get an ownership stake in Ted, with Universal essentially making a long-term licensing deal for the film.
Fox along with countless fans worldwide, have been waiting for the actor to bring “Family Guy” to the big screen but it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer because Ted comes first. At this point in his career, MacFarlane’s schedule has to be packed. Between his 3 television shows including “The Cleveland Show” and “American Dad,” how does he find the time to write, star, and direct a movie?!
What do you think of MacFarlane’s first directing gig?
