Oscar winner Russell Crowe will be immortalized as a major part of the entertainment industry when he receives the 2,404th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony will take place Monday, April 12th in Hollywood, California where the actor, his family, and some of his close friends will see his star unveiled to the world.

According to Crowe, this isn’t the first time he’s been offered a spot on the famous side walk.

“It’s not the first time they’ve asked.  I’ve turned it down a number of times before ‘cos I didn’t think I’d done enough.

It’s great to hear that he actually understands the prestige that comes with such an honor and he wanted to wait it out. There are so many people who’ve received stars before their time and it’s mind boggling (ahem, Ryan Seacrest).

Crowe made his feature film debut in 1990′s Blood Oath and since then has racked up three Oscar nominations and one win. At the age of 46 he’s still got plenty of juice left in his system and we’ll see that first hand when he sports a hood and a pair of leather pants (no tights) for next month’s Robin Hood where he plays the title character.

Also getting stars this year are actor, director, producer and Oscar winner Ron Howard (it’s about time) and Jay Leno, which I think is hilarious considering the year he’s had.
