Kick-Ass is coming and he’s bringing all his crazy hero friends with him. The Matthew Vaughn comic adaptation hits theaters on April 16th and a new TV spot has debuted online. Not only that, but Lionsgate has decided to throw us a bone by releasing a new clip from the movie that shows Hit Girl getting a very special and very dangerous birthday present from Big Daddy…

Kick-Ass is based on the Mark Millar comic that begs the question, what would happen if superheroes really did exist? The film centers on a group of crime fighting vigilantes who don’t have any super powers, but overcompensate with weapons and attitude. It’s a prime example of fantasy meeting reality, with a bit of comedy thrown in.

The title character is played by British actor Aaron Johnson who is a relative unknown in the States, Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl perhaps the most popular character in the crew, and her father Big Daddy is played by Oscar winner Nicolas Cage. There’s also Christopher Mintz-Plasse aka McLovin’ who stars as Red Mist, the son of Mark Strong’s villainous character Frank D’Amico.
