We’re all aware that Transformers Revenge of the Fallen was a loud, obnoxious mess that was edited into film form for our viewing pleasure and it’s no secret that one of the biggest flaws the movie had were too many unnecessary characters on both the human and robot side. These observations are pretty much common knowledge, so can you explain to be why Kevin Dunn and Julie White have signed on to reprise their roles as Shia Labeouf’s (Sam Witwicky) parents in Transformers 3?!

As if the cast wasn’t already bloated with the return of Tyrese Gibson and Josh Duhamel along with the additions of John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, and Ken Jeong, they’re bringing back Dunn and White? Nothing personal against the actors because their talented people, but their overbearing presence in Revenge of the Fallen wasn’t needed. You want to send your kid off to college? Fine, do it in the first 15 minutes of the movie but we don’t need to see you anymore after that.

The only way their inclusion could be acceptable is if they’re in cameo form as opposed to full on supporting characters. There’s no way that Michael Bay can fit “name” actors like Malkovich and McDormand in this movie without there being some casualties. It’s time to cut the fat!

What do you think about Kevin Dunn and Julie White returning for Transformers 3? Do you think their presence should be cut down?
