Today marks a sad day in Hollywood as it’s been announced that John Forsythe has passed away. The legendary actor died late Thursday from complications of pneumonia following a yearlong cancer battle in Santa Ynez, reports THR. He was 92 years old.
The actor who was best known for his iconic television roles had a long career on both the big screen and the stage. In the 80s he attracted many female viewers when appeared as Blake Carrington in the prime time soap opera Dynasty. He also starred in the 1950s sitcom Bachelor Father, and had his voice featured in the 70s crime drama Charlie’s Angels, alongside late TV actress Farrah Fawcett.
Forsythe also reprised his voice role as Charlie in the film adaptations of Charlie’s Angels in 2000 and 2003. During his career he was nominated for three Emmy awards and six Golden Globes eventually winning two Globes.
At the time of his death he is survived by his wife Nicole, his son Dall, two daughters Page Courtemanche and Brooke Forsythe, as well as six grand-children and five great-grandchildren. This is truly a sad day in television, because he was such a strong presence in the medium.
