The CBS comedy juggernaut “Two and a Half Men” might be reduced to “A Man and a Half” if the latest casting news is legit. According to People Magazine, the series’ star Charlie Sheen is leaving. He wants out of his contract, off the show and he’s taking the necessary steps to make that move happen.

To our knowledge this is not an April Fools joke, and Sheen really doesn’t have a desire to return for another season. The news shouldn’t be that much of a shock because there have been rumors going on for the past two years about how he was ready to leave. Sources are saying that he’s telling his close friends that he’s done and not coming back.

Sheen’s rep Stan Rosenfield was asked about the actor’s status on the show and he only answered with “Charlie’s deal is only through this current season.”

Um, that’s not a denial. CBS hasn’t commented on the story and stated that they don’t speak on contract negotiations but a source close to the show says, “negotiations are ongoing and nothing has been determined.” In other words, Sheen may finally get his wish and be free from his highly successful show that pays him a boatload of money. The series has been on for 7 seasons so it’s not like it hasn’t had a good run. Maybe the actor needs some “me” time, he’s had a rough year.

What do you think about Charlie Sheen’s decision to leave Two and a Half Men? Do you think the show should go on without him?
