Emmy winner Bryan Cranston is going from the meth lab to blogging central for his latest role. According to THR, the actor is in talks to co-star opposite Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in the comedy, Larry Crowne. The film is being distributed by Universal and will be financed by Vendome. As for his character in the movie, lets just say he has a serious “personal” problem…
The story of Larry Crowne will center on Hanks’ character who recently lost his job and decides to go back to college. There he meets and has an instant attraction to one of his professors played by Roberts. He also forms an unexpected bond with many of the students and finds a different outlook on his new life. Cranston will star as Roberts’ husband, a professional blogger who happens to be addicted to porn. So the majority of the time he’s online, he’s not doing what you think he’s doing.
Hanks will direct the film, which he also co-wrote with actress-screenwriter, Nia Vardalos. Larry Crowne is scheduled to begin principal photography this month. Once again, I’m excited to see Cranston get more feature film work. He’s one of the most underrated actors and in recent years he just started to receive the accolades he deserves. He’ll also co-star in the epic feature adaptation of John Carter of Mars, so it appears that his film slate is getting pretty full.
What do you think about Cranston joining Larry Crowne?
