The Expendables Trailer – The 80′s Are Back!

What year is it because the theatrical trailer for The Expendables has been released and it’s taking me back to the time of great action movies. Not only is the film directed by and co-stars Sylvester Stallone but it features almost every major action star from the past 30 years! The Expendables are taking us back to the good old days. Besides Stallone, the cast of The Expendables consists of Jason Statham, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Steve Austin, Randy Couture, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, oh yeah and The Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger. The trailer goes no holds barred on the eighties action homages, complete with the creepy narration, and the unrealistic dialogue. It’s everything you’d want if it was 1984!
I have to admit that the reveal of Willis and Schwarzenegger’s roles in the film are a bit of a let down. That’s something that I wanted to be surprised with, just to see how Stallone integrated them into the story. I also find it interesting that Li’s character is the butt of everyone’s jokes but if it really got down to it he could kick all of their asses.
The Expendables debut in theaters on August 13th.
