Jon Heder has made an abrupt decision regarding his latest career move. The actor famous for his breakout role in the film, Napoleon Dynamite was set to make his series debut on the Comedy Central network this summer but something happened. He quit. The actor has dropped out and is no longer attached, which means the search for a new leading man begins.

The show in question is currently untitled but it’s produced by Heder’s Blades of Glory co-star Will Ferrell and will feature several “Saturday Night Live” alums. The premise centers on an unemployed IT specialist who moves back home with his parents and younger brother. A couple of weeks ago, Horatio Sanz and Chris Parnell joined that cast as a burned out high school teacher and an ex-convict.

The comedy is set for 10 episodes, with production scheduled to begin this month so it can make its summer premiere deadline. Here’s the official statement that was released regarding Heder’s departure.

“Comedy Central, Gary Sanchez Productions and Jon Heder have mutually decided to part ways over creative differences with the character,” the actor’s rep said in a statement. “Jon wishes the show nothing but success, and is very grateful for the opportunity.”

Who are they going to find to replace the actor on such short notice? If they went through a heavy audition process for the role they could pick the first runner up, but something tells me this was something that was offered to Heder with no audition required.

Who do you think could replace Heder on the show? Will you watch?
