ABC has found a diamond in the rough with their mystery solving crime dramedy, “Castle”. The show which is currently at an all time high after receiving a huge ratings boost this week, has even more good news to celebrate. The network has decided to renew the series for a third season.
According to EW, “Castle’s” latest episode “attracted the show’s largest audience to date (14.5 million viewers) and gave ABC its best scripted performance in the time-slot in 14 years.” Yeah, that’s crazy considering when the show first began there were rumors of cancellation floating around every week. ABC’s season 3 pick-up order will include a full 22 episodes so sit back relax and enjoy more campy detective action. I for one, have yet to get into “Castle” because my DVR is already on overload due to my current roster but I’m happy for its success.
Nathan Fillion is a cult favorite for fanboys around the globe because of his connection to Joss Whedon. He’s appeared on Whedon’s show “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and he was the lead on the short lived, “Firefly.” My Fillion love goes even further back to when the actor appeared as a teenage Joseph ‘Joey’ Riley Buchanan on the ABC soap opera “One Life to Live” in the early nineties (yep, look it up).
Are you a fan of Castle? Are you excited about the show’s third season pick-up?
