Hayden Panettiere Returns To Japan To Save The Dolphins
By Travis Woods
Whatever you think of the TV show Heroes (it’s ok, you can admit that you watch it, even if it is pretty awful) you’ve got to admit that one of its stars, Hayden Panettiere, has got some moves when it comes to real-life heroics.
The 20-year-old actress and Save the Whales Again! Spokesperson (who, as captured in the Academy Award-winning documentary The Cove, surfed with several other protesters into the waters of Taiji, Japan in attempt to prevent the massacre of a group of dolphins before she and others were attacked by fishermen) returned to Taiji today to speak about the rampant killing of dolphins with the “mayor, city councilmen and Fisheries Union representatives,” according to E! Online.
Panettiere is also pushing the fact that most of the dolphin meat is extremely contaminated with a multitude of toxins, including mercury, and isn’t exactly safe for human consumption.
It’s a rather bold and admirable move coming from an actress who could just as easily crank out a tepid series of hollow and just shockingly bad dance-pop albums, date Wilmer Valderrama for ten months, star in a handful of the worst films of the decade and then go totally coke-crazy, but then, who would go and do a thing like that?
What do you think of Hayden Panettiere’s real-life heroism?

I applaud her. Hayden is using her name to stand up for animal rights. How many actresses/actors do that? It is a glamorous business, with egos, star-studded events and all about looks. She is exemplary of how people with power can bring focus to issues that actually can change the world or at the very least do something meaningful! JAS
