Glenn Beck And James Cameron Engage In War Of Words
By traviswoods
In today’s completely-irrelevant-and-more-than-a-little-annoying celebrity feud news, rhetoric monger Glenn Beck and blockbuster filmmaker James Cameron—get this—don’t like each other! Gasp! Shriek! Shudder!
I know, right?
According to TV Guide, it goes like this: in 2007, Beck’s oversized talking head could be seen on CNN, where he introduced a piece about Cameron’s documentary The Lost Tomb of Jesus, which “raises questions about Jesus’ resurrection.” Beck quipped, “many people believe James Cameron officially has tossed his hat in the ring today and is officially running for anti-Christ.”
No he didn’t! — I know guys, I know.
Three years later – that is to say, now – at a press conference for the Dances with Wol…er, I mean Avatar DVD release, Cameron had this to say about Beck:
“Glenn Beck is a f—ing a—hole… I’ve met him. He called me the anti-Christ and not about Avatar. He hadn’t even seen Avatar yet. I don’t know if he has seen it… I couldn’t believe when he was on CNN. I thought, what happened to CNN? Who is this guy? Who is this madman? And then of course he wound up on Fox News, which is where he belongs, I guess”
Whew, it’s getting serious now. There’s blood on the dancefloor.
Beck then retorted on his show – while wearing 3-D glasses:
This guy is making a billion dollars on a Smurf-murdering movie and he’s stewing about a joke that nobody heard on a network nobody watched! It’s time to walk away from the CGI, Jim. Just for a minute.”
No word yet on how the celebrity slapfight will continue, but we’ll update you with the next juicily uninteresting quip as it rolls in.
What do you think of this celebrity war of words?
