Predators Teaser Trailer Online Now!

The first teaser trailer has been released for Robert Rodriguez and Nimrod Antal’s reboot, Predators. Just a few days ago Rodriguez gave an exclusive sneak peek into the new Predator world at the opening of the SXSW Film Festval and now the official teaser is finally here. Are you ready for a new generation of aliens to hunt you down? Here’ s the trailer…
The plot of Predators centers on a reluctant mercenary named Royce, who leads a group of elite warriors who have been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.
Is it just me or do they deliberately hide Topher Grace’s face from the camera in this trailer? Every shot he’s in, he’s either in the dark or it’s a quick cut. Maybe they’re trying ease him into the series after his last attempt at crossing over to a franchise bombed (Spider-Man 3). Other than that, the trailer looks OK. We have Laurence Fishburne playing the older, wiser male figure out of the group and Alice Braga as the lone lady. This is an interesting cast and physically it looks like Adrien Brody’s come a long way since his waif days in The Pianist.
Predators hits theaters on July 7, 2010.

Its good to see Predators going back to what made the franchise good to begin with. The first was great – love the story structure, acting like any other action flick, then drop in an alien killer. The P2 was okay, but not amazing. The Feds getting involved really got on my nerves. Also, as one friend put it, Danny Glover doesn't seem BA enough to take on a Predator. The AvP movies were horrible, not worth counting in the franchise. I love that Rod & Nim chose to ignore those meaningless films. The only thing from the current Predators outing that makes me… uneasy: the extra large wrist blades. That was an idea from AvP. It doesn't look right.
