Earlier today we gave you our first impression of Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass after it was screened at this year’s ShoWest, now a new theatrical trailer has been conveniently released by Lionsgate. The video is short and sweet running just 10 seconds over the 1 minute mark. It focuses more on why these “heroes” do what they do, and dare I say tries to give the film an emotional edge? Check it out…

Kick-Ass is based on the Mark Millar comic that begs the question, what would happen if superheroes really did exist? The film centers on a group of crime fighting vigilantes who don’t have any super powers, but overcompensate with weapons and attitude. It’s a prime example of fantasy meeting reality, with a bit of comedy thrown in.

The title character is played by British actor Aaron Johnson who is a relative unknown in the States, Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl perhaps the most popular character in the crew, and her father Big Daddy is played by Oscar winner Nicolas Cage. There’s also Christopher Mintz-Plasse aka McLovin’ who stars as Red Mist, the son of Mark Strong’s villainous character.
