Betty White to Appear on SNL May 8

Earlier this week, we told you that veteran actress Betty White confirmed that she would appear on an upcoming episode of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” At the time, there were no specifics given regarding the air date or her hosting duties but now the cats out of the bag. White will appear on the show for a special episode that will feature some of SNL‘s funniest ladies of the past and present.

The internet fans who relentlessly campaigned for the actress to appear on SNL can rejoice. All of their hard work was not done in vain. I’m referring to the Facebook Page that was set up as a fan petition to catch the eye of the actress and SNL producer Lorne Michaels to get White on the show. Their wish was his command because Michaels got her to participate in a special Mother’s Day episode of “Saturday Night Live” that will air on May 8th.

White will likely be joined by other queens of comedy such as Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch. Am I the only one who really misses these women on screen? Especially Shannon and Gasteyer, they were a hilarious team! Even though White doesn’t have any children of her own Michaels justifies her being on Mother’s Day special by saying, “She’s the mother of us all in comedy.”
