Early last week we told you about Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black’s upcoming J. Edgar Hoover biopic and according to THR, Oscar winning director Clint Eastwood is eyeing the project, which would have him teaming up with Imagine Entertainment’s Ron Howard and Brian Grazer.

Black has already written the script for Hoover, which was being developed over at Universal under Imagine’s banner. The story is set to cover Hoover’s reign as the head of the FBI from its creation in 1935 to his death in 1972. Hoover is responsible for making the FBI the strong power structure it is today, but the road from its humble beginnings is paved with questionable activities. His public persona is just as interesting as his corrupt dealings behind the scenes.

Eastwood is currently lining up his future projects and Hoover has become one of his top priorities. If he does pick up the film it will more than likely be produced over at Warner Bros where he and his Malpaso company are based. Are you guys ready for Eastwood to take on a corrupt government official?

Do you think Clint Eastwood should take on the J. Edgar Hoover story? Is there anyone else who could do a better job?
