Sacha Baron Cohen or Jemaine Clement For Men in Black 3?
By Krystal Clark
Sacha Baron Cohen and Jemaine Clement are both comedic geniuses in their own right but only one of them can fill the role as the “funny guy” in the upcoming Men in Black sequel, MIB 3. According to a report from Bloody Disgusting the actors are in the running to star as a character named Yaz in the Columbia Pictures production.
As we reported earlier, Josh Brolin is still in negotiations to co-star in the film alongside Will Smith, and the studio is seriously starting to stack up the rest of the cast. Cohen and Clement’s involvement hasn’t been confirmed but when they finalize that info you’ll be the first ones to know. Men in Black 3 has a screenplay written by Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) and was originally set for a spring production start date, which has unfortunately been pushed back.
If I had to choose between Cohen and Clement, the latter would be my pick. We all know that Cohen is a talented actor, writer, and he’s got a Golden Globe to his credit but Clement is just as funny. He was amazing on the HBO series “Flight of the Conchords” and in the little seen flick, Gentlemen Broncos. He’s a great performer who deserves his shot in the spotlight. Plus, he wouldn’t be a distraction as another “big name” starring in the film.
Who do you think should land the part of Yaz? Are you Team Cohen or Team Clement?
