Rachel Nichols Joins Marcus Nispel’s Conan
By Krystal Clark
The cast for the remake of Conan continues to grow with the addition of its female lead. Do you remember Scarlett from G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra? What about the green girl from JJ Abrams’ Star Trek? They were both brought to life by an actress named Rachel Nichols and she’s attaching herself to another cult favorite, by joining Marcus Nispel’s latest film.
According to Latino Review, Nichols will star as Tamara, an 18-24 year old woman of Caucasian or Middle Eastern decent. She’s the second alum from G.I. Joe to join the film following young Snake Eyes actor, Leo Howard. They’re reporting that the actress beat out contenders like Cloverfield’s Jessica Lucas and “The L Word’s” Sarah Shahi for the part. The role of Conan will be played by Jason Momoa, Mickey Rourke will play his dad Corin, and Stephen Lang has been offered the part of the villain, Khalar Singh.
Tamara has been described as a master martial artist who works as a guard for the queen.
When Khalar Singh, a powerful warlord with ambitions to become the king of Acheron, storms the monastery and captures all of the novitiates, she is separated from Ilira, the one she must protect. With all of her strength and will, Tamara is determined to find and rescue her. She finds herself in league with Conan because of a mutual need to find Khalar Singh. She is not in the least intimidated by Conan’s size or grim demeanor and their alliance eventually blossoms into something that surprises them both
It sounds like we’ll have a typical barbarian based love story on our hands. It’s great news that the films’ casting is speeding up because I was beginning to worry about the timeline. Production on Conan is schedule to start fairly soon and they were missing key characters. I wonder who else will pop up in this project before it’s all said and done.
What do you think about Rachel Nichols joining Conan? Do you think she was the right choice?

Rachel has a cute face, is almost 6 feet tall, and has a smokin' bod, so she has the right look for this remake. Plus she earned her action chops in GI Joe. In other words: she's perfect.
She's a natural blonde but keeps changing hair colors faster than you can say "Lindsey Lohan." My guess is Rachel will have her (current) brunette hair for the "Conan" flick.
