Legends of the Guardians, formerly known as Guardians of Ga’Hoole, is six months away from being released and although we have not seen any of it as of yet, according to /Film, we might not have to wait that much longer. In fact the wait may be over this Friday when Alice in Wonderland hits theaters. Author of the books, Kathryn Larsky confirmed the release of the trailer:

“My big news is about the Guardians movie! A trailer for it will be shown all across the country attached to Alice in Wonderland starting March fifth. Go look for it.”

Apparently the trailer, which is 2 minutes and 15 seconds in length, will be seen in theaters all over the U.S. and UK in 3D this week. The film features the voices of stars such as Sam Neil, Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving, and Abbie Cornish among others is set to be released on September 24th.

The Zack Snyder fantasy, animation, adventure is about an owl that is kidnapped by a group called the St. Aggie’s that brainwash owls and turn them into soldiers. It is based on the first three books by Larsky but how closely will the movie follow the books? We’ll find out soon enough.

Do you think the film is hurting itself or helping itself by waiting so long to show audiences a trailer?
