Is there anything Tim Burton can’t do? This weekend we’ll see his interpretation of the the classic Lewis Carroll tale, Alice in Wonderland, and next he’s jumping on the vampire bandwagon. According to THR, he’ll produce the big screen adaptation of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter alongside Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov.

According to the trade, the film will be based on the novel of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith. Smith is known for his ability to blend classic figures and properties with old school horror elements. He’s the same guy who penned the Jane Austen inspired Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, so he knows a little something about this weird historical mix. In the book and the film Lincoln is reimagined as “an axe-throwing, highly trained vampire assassin.”

The background and setting is said to give a new context to actual events that happened during the President’s ascension to the White House. The story kicks off with his mother’s murder when he was a young boy and his vow to avenge his death. There’s a video circling the internet right now that features a fake trailer for the project, and it’s hilarious.
