Poll: Will You Watch The Tonight Show With Jay Leno?
By Krystal Clark
This evening, “The Tonight Show” will return with new episodes along with a (old) new host, Jay Leno. He regained the reigns to the program after a very public and tumultuous three-way war with NBC and his successor Conan O’Brien. Some people claim that his tactics were underhanded, while others say it’s just business. The question of who’s right and who’s wrong will come to a head when the long running series returns tonight, so will you watch?
The general public has had over a month to digest the idea of Leno returning to host after O’Brien’s short stint. During last week’s Olympic games the network managed to throw in a couple of promos for his return while they had the world’s attention. We’re not sure if they fared well with audiences, but Leno does have a decent line up for his pseudo-premiere tonight. Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx will be on, as well as Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, and country singer Brad Paisley.
Some of the people on his roster for the next couple of weeks include Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning for The Runaways, Morgan Freeman, Jason Reitman, and Judd Apatow. He definitely won’t be short on talent, but will he be short on viewers? After the push and pull of “The Tonight Show” battle, where do you stand with Leno and the series?
What do you think of Leno’s guest list? Are you done with The Tonight Show, if so why?

Jay should retire from the Tonight Show with dignity, he really can't expect us to believe none of the choices made were his. I would have been happy to tune in to a once-weekly show with him, but this whole fiasco is just SO sad and pathetic – his talents could have been used in so many other ways. It just looks (and feels) as if his ego couldn't take the hit of a 10 o'clock failure, even if it was a ridiculous idea to begin with. Quality drama has been in that timeslot for years and good shows were sacrificed/rescheduled for his vanity. I hope he will finally grow up and move on to another chapter of his life – I'm done with Jay.

It is such a relief to have Jay back! The whole Conan deal was an absolute disaster. I get so tired of people trying to blame Jay … for the poor ratings Conan received. He was just too juvenile and immature with slapstick comedy and could not carry that hour. The Tonight Show is a long standing tradition and needs to continue. Jay brings quality to the show and fits with the profile of his predecessors. NBC — finally a great decision. Don't worry about the naysayers … they just like controversy. It was totally insulting to watch Conan make sure a fool of himself and constatnly primping and pretending he was something special. Wish him well and NEVER on TV again!

Leno was behind Carson's forced retirement, stole the Tonight Show from Letterman and really screwed with Conan's career. The guy is a weasel. He's not funny and kisses to much celebrity A**. Conan wasn't truly given a fair shot at the Tonight Show and would have been successful for years to come once he found his audience. Leno's senior audience will be passing on soon, which will undo his ratings. Until then, there's Letterman. At least he's funny and doesn't put up with peoples crap.
