The interactive marketing campaign that Disney has developed for Tron Legacy is no joke. It doesn’t matter if you were around when the first film was released, or a newbie who caught it on DVD, you can enjoy their latest ploy. According to the Flynn Lives website there are a list of cities that are participating in a Tron Legacy event and if yours is on it, it’s time to get involved.

According to the site, the cities involved range from Atlanta, to Madrid, to Paris and Toronto. At the moment it appears that Paris, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, and Orlando have all been checked off and it looks like Madrid is next. That’s 5 down but 22 more to go. Here’s the official message that Flynn gives to those following along at home.

“We are deploying envoys to 27 locations around the world and we need you to meet up with the Flynn Lives contact in your area. Check the link below to find out when and where this rendezvous will take place. Then, get ready to hit the streets. Can we count on your support?”

This statement is given after the bold headline, The Hunt is On – The Time is Now! It’s a bit dramatic but if you’re into the game you enjoy those extra touches. This isn’t the first time that a studio has used this type of rallying campaign to get fans involved way before a film is released. It’s a good way to keep people interested in a project, especially something like Tron that’s been almost 30 years in the making and won’t hit theaters until the end of the year.
