Miley Cyrus to Appear at The Oscars

If it seems weird that Disney’s Hannah Montana would make an appearance at an event as prestigious as the Academy Awards, it shouldn’t because she’s already done it before. Seventeen year old Miley Cyrus will once again attend the event and walk the red carpet alongside several other well known teen stars. She made an appearance at the 2009 show and this year she’s bringing the kids from Twilight with her.

According to CBS News, Cyrus will be joining the likes of Zac Efron, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner as a presenter at this year’s Academy Awards. The show will air on Sunday March 7th, and will be hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. This isn’t the first time that the producers have reached out to young Hollywood to improve the show’s viewership. Just last year when Hugh Jackman hosted the event, they pulled out all the stops with the lovebirds from High School Musical, Mamma Mia, and Beyonce Knowles.

It sounds as if they want to keep that momentum going by inviting some of the stars from the vampire phenomenon Twilight to take the stage. Before Cyrus, Efron, Lautner, and Stewart were announced as presenters the Academy revealed that 2009 Oscar winners Sean Penn, Kate Winslet and Penelope Cruz will also present honors this time around.
