Jonah Hill, the chubby guy that made you laugh until you cried in Superbad and Knocked Up is set to star in The Sitter. The film is an adaptation of the 1987 movie Adventures in Babysitting, which starred Elisabeth Shue as the sitter in question. This time around Hill will play the childcare provider (shiver) and hilarity will ensue!

The Sitter centers on a college student, who’s been suspended for a semester and is living at home with his single mom. He soon has a night to remember when he gets coaxed into babysitting the eccentric kids next door whom include two boys and one wild 8-year-old girl. According to THR, David Gordon Green, the genius behind Pineapple Express, is in talks to direct the film.

With Hill starring and Green behind the camera,  you know this movie will keep you laughing from beginning to end. This project has consistently attracted strong talent; Jonathan Levine was attached to direct when it was at Fox Atomic, and Zac Efron and Zack Galifianakis have previously been mentioned as possible stars.

Can you imagine Jonah Hill babysitting three little rug-rats? Or more importantly can Hill carry this movie by himself?

What do you think about Hill taking on The Sitter? Do you think Green is a good choice for the director?
