Katee Sackhoff is known for her role on the sci-fi series “Battlestar Galactica,” and her most recent stint on “24,” but the actress has another gig on the horizon. According to THR, she’s been flooded with offers for various shows this pilot season, and she’s finally settled on one from Richard Hatem.
Sackhoff will star in an hour long crime drama for the ABC network where she’ll play “a beautiful female detective who teams with a disgraced ex-cop to solve crimes and untangle the conspiracy that sent him underground.”
A lot of you die hard “24″ watchers are probably wondering what this all means for the actress’ alter-ego Dana Walsh on the series. The producers of the show haven’t revealed any details about the character’s future, but they have left it open so that Sackhoff can engage in another show if a ninth season does happen.
Last season Sackhoff led the NBC pilot “Lost & Found,” and the year prior had a supporting role in the remake of “The Bionic Woman.” She’s become a hot commodity and still manages to interest show runners in ways that go beyond her sci-fi/fantasy roots.
Will you follow Sackhoff to a new drama on another network? Do you think she has enough of a fanbase to headline her own series?
