The TV gods must have heard our prayers because there’s been a major breakthrough regarding the final season of “Lost.” Remember when Maggie Grace stated that she wouldn’t be able to return to the show due to her hectic movie schedule? Well over at EW, they’ve just announced that she will be back this season and she’s bringing her alter ego Shannon with her!
During the season premiere we already saw her dead step-brother Boone, and the equally dead Charlie, so we shouldn’t have a problem bringing Shannon back to life. Executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse just confirmed the news to EW that Grace would be returning to the show later this season, despite her schedule. “We’re really excited about having her back on the show,” says Cuse, “and we have a good story for her.”
Neither Cuse or Lindelof specified how many episodes Grace would return for or what her story would entail, but who cares? She’s back and that’s the only thing that matters. All the original cast should show their faces at least once before the final farewell don’t you think? I wouldn’t be surprised if she turned up in the alternate timeline scenes with all the other dead castaways. In that world, all the casualties from the island are walking around alive and well.
Also expected to return this season are Harold Perrineau, Cynthia Watros, and Rebecca Mader.
Are you excited about this season? What do you think about Grace’s return?
