The official video has been released for Avril Lavigne’s lead track off the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack, Almost Alice. The song is entitled “Alice (Underground),” and was written by Lavigne and produced by Butch Walker. The music video is filled with clips from the film, and features Lavigne playing a punk version of the title character.

Even though Lavigne isn’t the most loved woman in music, she does write her own songs, which is rare in the industry. Also, you can’t deny that this video looks amazing. The cinematography blends so well into the artistic aesthetic of the Alice in Wonderland film. There are a lot of inter-cut scenes from the movie that are matched with those of Lavigne in the video, which seamlessly intertwine with one another.

One of the most breathtaking shots feature Avril as Alice, sitting at a table with Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter. It really looks as if she’s in the scene with the actor even though she’s not. Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland will hit theaters on March 5th and the album Almost Alice will be available for purchase starting March 2nd.

    Video is interesting, but that refrain with the extenuated "Oohhh"–cringe-inducing and gets old FAST.

    Oh that screeching voice!!! Could have been a wonderful video if it featured anyone BUT Avril Lavigne.

    It was really good…. I'm a fan of Avril since I was 12 and now I'm 16… She goes more Goth and I like it… That stupid blond-haired chik with the pink skirt isn't the best damn thing I've ever seen. Old Avril is back… Whibley, live Avril alone! The song rock and the vid too!

    I have alwaysed loveed avril lavigne, soo much, I love all of her songs!!!!…….. although iam not really a goth I just LOVE her ! :) xxx

    The video was very entertaining from a visual standpoint. Avril’s voice is NOT suited to this song, however. I will happy if I never have to hear that endless screeching/whining drivel again.
