Stan Lee has gone Marvel mad with the recent tweets coming from his Twitter page today. The comic book legend dropped a bunch of hints regarding the upcoming roster of Marvel releases including, Ant-Man. He claims that he recently met up with director Edgar Wright to discuss the property, and they hit it off. He also dished on a few second string characters that the studio plans on bringing to the big screen.
Stan the Man didn’t leave just one tweet full of info, but he left several that let us in on what Marvel has in store for some of its lesser known properties. Here they are…
- To make up for my previous grievous error, here’s a little item that may have escaped you. Marvel is prepping a movie starring– Ant Man!
- I had lunch with the cool , young director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) and, as you’d imagine, we had fun discussing the tiny hero
- Ant Man is just one of the many wild treats Marvel has planned for you, such as Iron Fist, Dr. Strange, Black Panther and more, more, more!
If you’re not familiar with the character or story of Ant-Man, here’s some background. He’s a member of the Avengers team and goes by the government name of Dr. Hank Pym. He was never one of my favorite characters out of the group, but he was one of their charter members. Therefore, it seems awkward that they would make this movie, knowing the character wouldn’t be featured in the Avengers, which comes out in 2012. Marvel has already stated that their characters of choice for the film will include Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Nick Fury, and hopefully, Hulk. Where does that leave Ant-Man?
I’m more interested in seeing Black Panther and Iron Fist on the big screen as opposed to anything else. More so Black Panther, because with the exception of Blade, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen a minority comic character as the lead in a film. Let’s do it again.
What do you think of Marvel’s upcoming slate of films? Do you care about any of them?
