Last week, writer, director, and producer David Goyer made the decision to leave his gig as showrunner on the ABC sci-fi drama, “FlashForward.” On the surface, the news doesn’t appear to have anything to do with the next installment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise, but being as analytical as we are, this might be a tell-tale sign that the third film is upon us.

Over at Deadline Hollywood, they reported that Goyer was leaving the popular TV series to concentrate on his work in feature films. Over the past decade he’s been the go to guy for comic based movies, and he’s only gotten more popular after working on the screenplays for both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. In the story regarding his decision to leave “FlashForward” it states that he “is now writing the third Batman installment with Chris Nolan’s brother Jonah.”

“As my feature projects have started ramping up again, I felt I was being pulled in too many directions,” Goyer said in a statement. “I’m proud of the show and excited about the relaunch. It’s in great hands.”

Even though it would be great to take this as a sure sign that Batman 3 is on the horizon, he could be talking about a handful of projects. Have you seen this guy’s IMDB page? It’s filled with things that are currently in development. I’m sure the third Batman film is in there somewhere, but let’s not put all of our eggs in one basket.

Do you think they need to start working on the screenplay for Batman 3 now? How long are you willing to wait it out?

Dark Knight was cool, but Batman Begins was boring garbage.

Bring in Leo DiCaprio to play the Joker while in Arkham. Despite Ledger giving the performance of a generation, before TDK nobody would consider Ledger in the same league as Dicaprio and I still dont. Look at his "Whats Eating Gilbert Grape" or "This Boy's Life", he's more than capable of pulling it off and even exceeding Ledger's Joker. If you read the comic you know that the Joker's persona and personality change depending on how he feels on a given day. Why not bring in A List actors who fit the body type and let them all provide a different spin on the character. Let each actor do the Joker how they want. No need t try and follow Heath, Nicholas or anyone else.

And Bring in Brock Lesnar to play Bane. Have him break Batman at the end of the movie and let the next director start a new trilogy showing Batman regain the mantle.
