Alice in Wonderland Super Bowl TV Spot
By Krystal Clark
During tonight’s Super Bowl presentation several TV spots were shown promoting the most anticipated films of the year. One of them was for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, which is scheduled to hit theaters next month. The TV spot runs about 32 seconds and it features all the usual suspects…
Some of the highlighted characters shown in the commercial were the Red Queen, The Knave of Hearts, The Cheshire Cat and of course, The Mad Hatter. But the best one liner came from The March Hare, who was very upset that Alice was late for tea, and he let it be known. And Johnny Depp continues to stun us with his performance as the wide eyed Hatter alongside Mia Wasikowska‘s Alice.
The film will hit theaters on March 5th, and is based on a combination of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and the unofficial sequel, Through the Looking Glass. The story centers on a 19-year-old Alice, who makes a dramatic return to the fantasy land she visited as a child. Even though this take is supposed to be a lot darker than the previous versions, the commercial put a smile on my face. It had the right mix of humor, darkness, and spectacular visuals.
