Another Super Bowl ad has debuted online and this time it’s from the highly anticipated M. Night Shyamalan adaptation of The Last Airbender. The film is based on the popular Nickelodeon series of the same name that centered on a 12 year old boy battling to save the world. The TV spot shows a lot more action and footage than what we saw in the teaser trailer and it looks amazing…

The Last Airbender centers on Aang, the young successor to a line of Avatars who have the ability to control the four elements (earth, fire, water, air). In the past there was peace between the four nations that represented each element, but it changed when the Avatar disappeared and the Fire Nation attacked, forcing a war on the other three nations. Now it’s up to 12 year old Aang to defeat their army and bring balance and peace back to all four nations.

For those of you who doubted if The Last Airbender could visually be adapted into live action, this commercial shows you that it’s possible. My expectations for this film have gone up tenfold after watching Aang take out an entire army. And if you’re a fan of Twilight, Jackson Rathbone does appear in the trailer, but only for a short period of time. The majority of the footage shown centers on the lead actor, Noah Ringer.

Here’s the TV spot…

I'm hoping it lives up to the hype. I've sat down many of nights with my son watching this cartoon. It's a GREAT cartoon Series, one of the best I've seen and if M Night does it right and portrays Aang and the TRUE Avatar (I think you know what I mean) for what he is I think it's going to be the surprise hit of the Summer. And Dixie watch the Cartoon before you make a comment next time. An American writer wrote the story and took it to Korea to be animated I'm almost certain of that.
