Season 3 of “True Blood” will be overflowing with fresh faces when it returns to HBO for another go around. According to THR, we can expect to see a new leading lady on the canvas and her name is Brit Morgan. She’s not as well known as other actresses out there but she was a specifically chosen by creator Alan Ball.

According to the trade, after months of searching Morgan has landed the role of Debbie Pelt, Alcide’s (Joe Mangiello) ex-girlfriend. Her character will have a rivalry with Sookie (Anna Paquin), which will make the environment uncomfortable for everyone. Debbie doesn’t really care for the mind reader, and she’ll make her feelings known from the start.

Morgan has previously appeared on the ABC series, “The Middleman” (which I’ve never heard of), and fought tooth and nail for her coveted spot on “True Blood.” Debbie was the last major role that needed to be filled for the new season, and now that she’s taken care of, the random cast additions should cease and desist.

Over at EW, they had the opportunity to speak to Alan Ball about the character before Morgan was hired,

“She’s going to be in more episodes,” he said, “so maybe that will have an impact on [what actress] we can get for her, which is a big question right now.”

Well, now that the question’s been answered, bring on season 3!

What do you think of Brit Morgan taking on the role of Debbie Pelt? Do you think she can hold her own against Sookie?
