New Alice In Wonderland Mad Hatter Clip and Stills
By Ben McCarthyThe generous people over at Disney have released some concept art designs and a short Mad Hatter clip from the Tim Burton adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland. The film stars frequent collaborators Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter as The Mad Hatter and The Red Queen, and newcomer Mia Wasikowska as Alice. We’ve got a video of Depp talking about his role in the film and how it felt to go from his usual laid back self to being mad as a hatter…
The film centers on a 19-year-old Alice, who makes a dramatic return to the fantasy land she visited as a child. She’s Wonderland’s only hope against the evil Red Queen and her group of followers. Will Alice be able to end her reign of terror? Below is some very interesting concept art highlighting the March Hare, Cheshire Cat and the mystical Underland. On top of that, we have a special Mad Hatter video which features Johnny Depp explaining the origins of the character and his portrayal.
This is one of those matches that where made in cinematic heaven, Tim Burton + Johnny Depp + Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland” = (hopefully) a very good movie. Now that the new year is finally here, we don’t have to wait much longer to tumble down the rabbit hole. Alice in Wonderland hits theaters on March 5, 2010.
Here’s the video and the movie stills…
What do you think about Depp’s take on The Mad Hatter? Are you excited to see the movie?
