Four Brothers Headed for a Sequel
By Krystal Clark
Four Brothers wasn’t a major cult or commercial success when it was released back in 2005, but the movie did make a decent amount of change at the box office. Enough to make Paramount take a second glance at the film, and think about making a sequel. The cast of the movie was led by Mark Wahlberg and according to Yahoo, the actor and the studio are interested in reprising the Brothers‘ story.
Four Brothers centered on just that, four adopted brothers who included Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, Andre Benjamin aka Andre 3000 from the rap duo Outkast, and Garrett Hedlund. They all returned to their hometown of Detroit, Michigan where they discovered that their adoptive mother had been brutally gunned down and murdered. Driven by anger, they turn into a four man detective team seeking out justice for her. The film was directed by John Singleton and earned a gross of 74 million dollars at the U.S. box office.
If you haven’t seen the film spoilers ahead:
The biggest problem with making a Four Brothers sequel is the fact that there aren’t four brothers left. In the first film Jack, who was played by Hedlund was killed towards the end of the movie. If they return for another, they’ll have to title it something else. And who would be the bad guys this time around? It would be logical to take down the guys who killed their little brother but Wahlberg’s character Bobby already handled that in the last one.
What direction should they go in for the Four Brothers’ sequel? What should the movie’s title be?

They could make a sequal to Four Brothers and have Jack in it. Many of the fans were thinking of reasons that Jack could still be alive. They were saying that the hostpital could've made a mistake and told the remaining three that he was dead when he wasn't. The writers could simply put that Jack did live the shoot out and have amnesia. I know, they buried Jack in the first movie but the coffin was closed. They could say that the others didn't want to see their little brother like that. As for the brothers not being aware of Jack's amnesia, well, the writers will have to make up an excuse for that. They're writers after all.
